At Academia Sandoval, we offer various after school enrichment opportunities. Many of these programs are offered by parents who want to share a passion with children. Here are some of the activities we have at Sandoval right now:

After school enrichment cooking classes,this class is open to all students in K-6th
Pick up notes: Dismissal will take place at the exterior door #17 facing 37th St.

After School Art with Kelly
After school art with Kelly will be an art enrichment program for students who are looking to further their art skills, build a portfolio for applying to DSA or just want to have a little more art in their lives. Grades 1-6
Classes will meet after school on Tuesdays from 4-5:00 PM in the Art Room. Students will report to the art room at 4 for snack: Please pack an individual snack for your child.
There will be scholarships available to those in need of them.

Rooted Readers After-School Enrichment
What: Rooted Readers is an after-school enrichment program that brings together story times and gardening skills through the lens of an individual’s impact on the planet. Join us for stories, games, worms, seeds, pollinators, nature, soil and much more! We will be visiting the Sandoval Community Garden as often as weather allows.
Who: Programming is geared for grades K-3, but all grade levels are welcome!
When: WEDNESDAYS – 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9 & 11/16
4:00-5:00 PM (student pick-up at door #17 on 37th St.) Room #148
Tuition: $240.00* per child
*Scholarships are available for children who qualify for free and reduced lunch (FRL). Sibling discounts are available.

Chess Club
WHEN: Fridays after school from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
9/16, 9/23, 10/7, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, 12/2, 12/9
WHO: Grades K-5; no experience required. Students paired by age and level.
WHAT: Calling all budding Kings and Queens to one of Colorado’s premier chess programs! With new lessons for returning students, our creative curriculum brings humor, stories, and “chessercizes” to help students apply lessons on and off the board. Chess education has been shown to help kids improve logic, math, and reading comprehension skills. Students calculate options and evaluate consequences, learning to overcome obstacles and practice visualization techniques to think ahead. Whether playing in our scholastic tourneys or with family and friends, kids love learning with PALS because we make chess FUN!
